Our Story

We walked around the world. Together.

It started with a steps competition at Intersog. What began as a friendly challenge became a long-running tradition, as fitness enthusiasts across the company logged their steps week after week, year after year.

When we finally added it all up, the number stopped us in our tracks: together, we had walked around the Earth several times over.

Gone This Far™ is our tribute to like-minded people everywhere. It's community work, made for the community, and completely free. If it puts a smile on your face and you'd like to buy us a coffee or a sandwich from inside the app, we'd greatly appreciate it.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is it really free?

Yes. Every feature is free, with no ads and no subscription. There's an optional tip jar (a coffee or a sandwich for the team) that unlocks nothing and exists only if you'd like to say thanks.

Do I need an Apple Watch?

No. Gone This Far™ reads workouts from Apple Health, so it works with anything that saves workouts there: Apple Watch, the iPhone Fitness app, and third-party apps like Strava or Garmin Connect that sync to Health.

I use two apps. Will my workouts be counted twice?

No. When the same workout is saved by more than one app, Gone This Far™ merges the copies so your totals aren't inflated, preferring the Apple Watch recording.

What data does the app read, and where does it go?

Workouts and their distance, energy, heart-rate, and elevation statistics, read only with your permission. Everything is processed on your iPhone and nothing is uploaded. There's no account and no server. The privacy policy has the details.

How are race times worked out?

For each run that covers a race distance, the app estimates your time at exactly that distance from the run's average pace. You can make race matching stricter or more relaxed in Settings.

Can I try it without any workouts?

Yes. Tap "Explore with Sample Data" to see every feature with a realistic seven-year demo history. Your own data is never mixed in.

Something looks wrong. How do I get help?

Visit the support page or email support@intersog.com. We read every message.
